A few years ago the life of David M., drastically changed when an act of
violence led to his traumatic brain injury. He now struggles with
impaired memory, concentration, motivation and a sense of orientation.
Though he never made art before coming to the Northeast Center he enjoys
the Art Studio milieu and his own creativity. Often he wonders through
the environment touching and exploring the materials. He has his own
iconography, sometimes exemplified in drawings with rainbow or cave-like
images. This abstract example depicts his first experience with acrylic
painting on canvass. David hopes to expand his work in the Fine Arts
Program.
