Heidi is a thirty-seven year old woman who is most interesting artist. Her brain injury began at the age of seven as a result of seizures. Her art is filled with layers of text and image that grow from her multi-dimensional personal space, as seen in this image. She is extremely versatile, working in different styles. When she first started attending the Art Studio Heidi worked simple
materials like markers and crayons on paper. She soon began painting
with acrylic on canvass as if it was all second nature. She moved from
using brushes to working with a toothbrush and hot water. Her first
painting expressed a colorful sunset over the ocean with incredible
virtuosity. Subsequent paintings have been created spontaneously, often
going through many transformations that echo processes of growth and
decay found in nature.
